The importance of learning and developing through natural play
Our society has become so target-orientated and time-pressed, being in nature and playing with nature couldn’t be more beneficial to our children. Natural play has well documented health, wellbeing and learning benefits and can easily be part of every day. Our designs and products are made to enhance the natural experience, encourage spontaneous and child-initiated action whilst being manufactured in a way that sustains the countryside.
Increasingly, school grounds are becoming the only outside space that children and young people have regular access to. It is essential to provide a safe refuge where they can learn, play and have fun. For many they represent a child’s only contact with nature. Regular learning and playing in outdoor environments can improve attainment and behaviour, health and wellbeing, socialisation and teacher job satisfaction.
At Copper Beech Play we have a wealth of positive testimonials from children, architects, councillors and parents. We have been awarded the Schumacher Award for small scale sustainable development and the Permaculture Community Award.
